How to get the test

Check if you’re eligible for a $0 out-of-pocket test. Testing and sample collection are available at a variety of locations, including Walmart® pharmacy drive-thrus and other participating retail locations. Those without any COVID-19 symptoms also have the option of going to select Quest Patient Service Centers. Appointments are required at all locations. If you are not eligible or want the convenience of testing at home, purchase an at-home kit today.

To meet testing requirements for school, work, entertainment, or travel, schedule an appointment with as much lead time as your activity allows

High accuracy and reliability

Due to its high accuracy, active infection molecular testing (eg, PCR) usually does not need to be repeated.

Who can get an active infection test

Active infection testing may be right for you if you are currently experiencing SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) symptoms or were exposed to the virus in the last 14 days. This test may also be a good option if you need COVID-19 testing to meet school, work, or travel requirements.

COVID-19 testing statements

  • The Quest Diagnostics molecular test, other authorized molecular tests and the self-collection kit (together the “molecular tests”) have not been FDA cleared or approved;
  • The molecular tests have been authorized by FDA under an EUA for use by authorized laboratories;
  • The molecular tests have been authorized only for the detection of nucleic acid from SARSCoV-2, not for any other viruses or pathogens; and,
  • The molecular tests are only authorized for the duration of the declaration that circumstances exist justifying the authorization of emergency use of in vitro diagnostics for detection and/or diagnosis of COVID-19 under Section 564(b)(1) of the Act, 21 U.S.C. § 360bbb-3(b)(1), unless the authorization is terminated or revoked sooner.
